Hi,

After some searching on this forum I found many recommendations to not use arraylists in webservice-objects(input/output).

Anyway, I already have such lists in an existing system, so there is no way I can remove it. In my case, I want to extend a list

into

The wsdl with the first list of Bars looked like this:

Is this possible at all? Does anyone have experiences with this kind of generic lists in a wsdl?

Hi!
As far as I know, it is possible, since XML also supports inheritance.
Take a look at section 4 of the XML Schema primer: http://www.w3.org/TR/xmlschema-0/#IPO
Best wishes!

Thanks.

Solved the problem. It seems like the library I am using, aegis, does not support inheritance out of the box. Solved the problem by doing like the guy in this post, http://www.mail-archive.com/cxf-user@incubator.apache.org/msg05835.html.
