struts - any performance overhead

Hi
I was just wondering, do applications built using struts perform worse than aplications built using over frameworks such as a model 1 framework. it just seems that, in theory, constantly passing on control flow to actions and excessive use of forwarding would harm performance?

Also, take a look at these Rules of Optimization
IMO, you should first consider the infinitely larger chunks of time and effort it takes to debug and maintain a "Model 1" vs. "Model 2" before counting the "milli"beans of call overhead.
