Dear JavaRanchers,

I am planning to use RMI for my distributed application.

I just wondered if there is/are some API'S that extends the JAVA RMI mechanism and make it more efficient /simpler ?

Could anyone please comment on the above question?

Kind regards,
Hardik Raja.

There are plenty of APIs that build on RMI - for example JINI and JavaSpaces and Java Message System.

These APIs keep you from having to fiddle around at the RMI level and give you "high level" tools.

No reason to design a new system for a distributed application unless you just like extra trouble.
