Hi Ranchers,

today i was learning <sql:query> tag and came towards a doubt.

I provided sql database, driver name, userName, passWord in the sql:setDataSource tag and connected and brought database information as given in the select clause of my <sql:query> tag. However it everytime connects to database whenever i refresh the page which is not good.

Is there a caching capability which might help, as in once it connects it should not re-connect again if i send next request.

Thanks in advance,
Yogendra N Joshi.

Hi Chinmaya,

Thanks for the link, However the discussion doesn't even talk about my problem. My question was about caching in sql:query ?

Can someone please shed some light on it.

Regards,
Yogendra

Poster 1: I'm using a chocolate bar to bang in this nail, and have some questions about it.

Poster 2: Chocolate bars aren't recommended for banging in nails, here's an article about it.

Poster 1: Thanks, but that article doesn't explain how to use a chocolate bar to bang in a nail.

In other words, you are using a tool unsuitable for the task at hand. When faced with the unsuitability of the tool, perhaps it's time to think about using something more suitable?
