You can set rules when too show a portlet or not , in use off the http header, is this possible to do the same from a cookie ?

Do you have a link that demonstrates how to show a portlet based on an HTTP header? I've never seen that done before, and I'd love to see an example.
As far as a cookie? Well, I've never seen it done in an Http Header, let alone a cookie.
I'm looking forward to seeing a tutorial on that!
