Enjoy!
I went to a nephews wedding in Portland last year.Hope it's as much fun as we had. But, the rice was gone it was bubble blowing that was used instead.

I'm back. The wedding was beautiful and I enjoyed seeing my relatives again. Much too short in my opinion.

Marilyn,
Exploiting your your " epic patience" talent, can you tell me about rice.
Is it that, originated from China?
Why the rice is being finished soon?
I am curious about (wedding) tradition there
Are you also breaking cups, glasses, plates, walls, noses there for hapiness in future?

Probably from that area, although maybe not exactly China. I don't know for sure because the package only says, "Distributed by ..." and not "Grown in ...."

Most people do not throw rice anymore because none of the animals or birds can eat raw, uncooked rice. So now we usually throw birdseed at the bride and groom. It's better for the environment.

Are you also breaking cups, glasses, plates, walls, noses there for hapiness in future?

I think only Jewish weddings break cups/glasses with their foot for happiness. Nothing was broken at this wedding.

I had Russian, in mind
Strange, absolutely nothing was broken?
Unbelievable. Strange people, strange traditions
When I use "" button (for inserting quotes) there appear also some other tags like qb, i.
Can you explain them?

qb: bold
i: italic
One can discover what they do by removing or adding them to the text of a post.

Sorry, I just wanted to see them again and to tell that link doesn't contain [qb]

Do some detective work. Ask yourself
  • In what context does UBB automatically insert [qb]?
  • What HTML markup does the UBB code [qb] result in?
  • Take a wild guess as to what Q and B might stand for in the given context, and given the codes you *were* able to find on the reference page.

  • Then report back to the group on your findings.

    Marilyn,
if I do not distract everybody from the wedding, I'd like to thank you more and ask you more, and could not find more appropriate place for hijacking
It is again about getting free, free...
