Hi all,
I want to create a popup window which will contain html form for user input. How can i develop this requirement?
Example site: www.bayt.com
www.monsterindia.com(update resume module)

The site mentioned above is working exactly like how i prefer to develop. The site throws out popup window which is in a sense (modal) window. Through that pop up window the user input is taken (even user login is done in that way).

If any body got some idea, help me out please..

It's not a popup window. It's just a div that's absolutely positioned at a higher z-index than the rest of the page.

It's just HTML, CSS and JavaScript - you can simply examine the page's source code in your browser.

Hi all,
I have studied the code and understood how to make popup windows (not really popups) using div and javascript. My final doubt is what the purpose of mentioning z-index property in the css style.

Do you know what z-index in CSS does?

Eric, I haven't used z-index so far. Some example of div pop up windows advise to use z-index. But i did it without giving z-index. Thats why i got a kind of doubt.. Explain me please.
