Hi,
I want to know which is the best book for reference to clear SCBCD5 exam. I don't have much time in hand as I ahve to write it within a one and half months time line.
I have hands on exprience in EJB 2.0 and Spring and Hibernate. In my project we are using JPA and I feel EJB 3.0 will not be very tough to handle and clear the exam.
But I need a proper guidance for selecting a reference book as I don't have much time in my hand. Please help me ranchers !!!

Thanks N Regrads,
Smruti

I am preparing for the exam too, and plan to clear it within this two or three weeks.

what I have done is

1) study EJB 3 IN ACTION chapter 1 to chapter 11 ~ completed in 4 days
2) tryout a Mock Exam (I did the first test of Enthuware Mock Exam)

now on my way of
3) study Mikalai Zaikin Study Guide with reference to spec, I straight away jump to chapter9:Transaction to start, not yet decide which chapter will I do next...

Hope this will help you ~

EJB3 in Action is a highly recommended book for SCBCD 5. To supplement that maybe the HF EJB book.

HF EJB Book is not for EJB 3.0 (SCBCD 5.0), it is for EJB 2 (SCBCD 1.3)

Hi

The best and most compressive EJB books (materials) are the EJB specification, the only problem is you need a little background. So I will say Ejb in action (EJB 3.0) -> Specification -> M.Z. notes.

The way I study in Mikalai Zaikin Study Guide is as follows:
Transaction -> Security -> Exception -> start from the begining till complete JPA

from my study of the Transaction chapter, the last objective of this chapter having numerous table which miss out some information , you might consider refer to the EJB Core spec 14.3

Hope this will help !
