Hi all,

I am using javascript for some of my development work. I happened to meet IE related problems of which 'blocking active content' is one. I want my client set on active content or my code doesn't work correctly. Can anybody help me how to solve this issue??

First question is why are you developing off your file system and not a server set up as Apache/IIS? Active content warning is a security prompt since it is not allowed to run JavaScript by default off your C,D,E,etc drive.

If you want to enable it, you need to go into your settings. A simple Google search would give you the answer: http://www.google.com/search?q=enable+active+content

Hi Eric, I don't understand what you are talking about.. I have trouble enabling active content. I don't want my users do this always. I know i can go enable active content in IE internet options. But if i run in a server, You mean this security prompt will not arise?? Local file system will cause this security issue?? Advise me.

If active content is not enabled in the browser, then there's nothing the web app can do about that. Imagine the security implications if that was possible!

So you say web app can't do anything to programmatically enable active content? Then its fine. The question which i asked to Eric, The javascript in web server or app server will not cause this issue while running on IE??

It happens only if you run it on your local machine on the file system and not on the http protocol.
