Hi All,

should we use tool Checkstyle to confirm that the code we have written confirms to the Sun coding statndards?

yes, checkstyle is really great. It's helpful for maintain project quality.
You can check project for Sun Coding Standards or check Standards as according your requirements by configuring Standards.

I can not recommend any tool as I use netbeans and I use the code completion tool that is great... it assigns variables with a default camelCase which is usualy made up of the reference type and allows a lot of flexibilty eg:

Customer < we have a customer
type in my and hit <ctrl>+<sace> (oneAction) it suggest myCustomer, myCust as variable names.... never fails me
