Do they play nice together? If so, can someone provide me with an architecture diagram?

Hi there,

In Terms of Oracle SOA suite 11G or 10G, the answer is a big YES.

Mostly corporates use the HUman Workflow with Oracle BPEL/SOA suite for their workflow process. The Human Workflow along with BPEL provides a cutting edge solution, where BPEL could be called as a superset of workflow.

Oracle Business RUles(OBR), is a extensible XML based rules engine which is part of the SOA Suite or can be used individually.

Oralce Portal, a JSR 168 reference implimentation is a powerful portal framework. You can make the Workflow/Bpel flows , tasks view in customizable Portlets.

We are in a process of reviewing portals, but want to implement a workflow and business rules engine as well. Just making sure that this architecture has been successful?

It'll probably be IBM, at least for the portal. JBoss for the workflow & rules engine. Hasn't been determined yet.
