Hi,
I included the variables

java_home=c:/program files/java

jre_home=c:/program files/java/jdk../jre/bin

catalina_home=c:/program files/apache foundation/tomcat5.0

path=c:/program files/java/jdk1.6...

in my environment variables tab

in spite of this when i open cmd and type javac it says

"javac is not recognized as an internal or external command,
perable program or batch file"

is there anything else that i need to do

<shud i include the variable classpath also>

kindly let me know

For this you need to set the invironment variables like this

Variable : JAVA_HOME
Value : C:\Program Files\Java\jdk1.5.0\bin;.
Variable: PATH
Value : C:\Program Files\Java\jdk1.5.0\lib

System Variables :
Variable : PATH (This will be there already)
Value : %JAVA_HOME%\bin; (Add this by separated by ;)
