It looks like this is a test to check if an attribute in your ldap tree is of value '?'. Is that what it does ?

As far i know, there is no special meaning for '?' in jstl . some time in jsp/servlet[writing a url] '?' is used to write a QueryString.example xyz.do?name1=value1&name2=value2

If its just a string, then what value does it hold. Will it be null or empty??
