Reading and Writing from Excel Spreadsheet

Does somebody have a code to read from and write to Excel spreadsheet , the multiple columns of data .
I don't want to use any APIs .

Good luck reinventing the wheel then. Excel files are not easy to decipher, so I would be all too happy to use a third party library like Apache POI or JExcelAPI.

I agree but I can't download or copy any code on my office machines .

Through JDBC connection I was even able to read and write the data .
But while writing , it was writing only one column.

So I thought of checking it in I/O section if there is a way .

Why not? Is your system administrator so strict, or is there any other cause? Because like I said, using one of the existing libraries is going to help you out hundreds of times quicker.
