access to internal web site using Servlet redirection/forwarding with 3DES Encryption

i need to provide access to internal web site using Servlet redirection/forwarding. internal site in the private zone and forwarding module in the public zone.And need to use strong encryption between the two machines which resides in public zone and private zone. (Encryption such as AES, 3DES recommended. NOT a session encryption) .
1.What will be the best option Servlet redirection or forwarding ? I have use

 public void service(HttpServletRequest request,
HttpServletResponse response)
throws ServletException, IOException {
// Redirect the request to a new location - http://www.xxx.com
response.sendRedirect("http://www.xxx.com");
} 

but in 3DES encryption/decryption this doesn't work

2.Are there any libraries for this ?
