javascript events and global shortcuts

I want to configure ctrl+shift+z as a shortcut for an action in my page. But the key combination is already a global shortcut for my music player.
Can i override the global shortcut or prevent the global shortcut action or just intimate the user that a global shortcut already exists for the key combination
