I used jQuery.live in one part of my application. It looks like this....

But then, in the new HTML coming in the response I had to include the following to get the live event to trigger:

Is there a way to do this without the calling trigger() ?

.live() does not support custom events. It doesn't even support all W3C events yet.

jQuery 1.4 plans to support more of the W3C events with .live(), but it's not yet known if it will support custom events.

Does the liveplugin support more at this point? Or will I need to trigger the events myself anyway?

Looking at the docs, I think I might have answered my own question, testing now.

livequery plugin seems to work the way I want it to. For the curious:

If jQuery is going to pull in a plugin to core, would be nice for them to pull in more of it.

.live() was added with 1.3 -- and yeah, it'd be nice if the match handlers were also added.
