Sorry Ranchers, This stupid Flex doesnt support any Java coding, it is used to develop rich GUI's which in turn interact with java applications..

Thanks to all......

How does not being programmed in Java make Flex stupid? Java's a rigid language with an impoverished model of abstraction--seems like avoid Java would be a *good* thing.

Hi david, yes you are right that java is rigid language with impoverished model.. But it would have been great for java developers if java and GUI both could be developed in FlexBuilder.. Anyways its not a big deal..

Ehm...they can - I'm currently doing this! FlexBuilder is just an eclipse plugin. If you already have an eclipse install for your Java development, just add the FlexBuidler plugin to that and you can swap between perspectives to develop Java and ActionScript/MXML.

Just a question guys,

Im working on a banking application. This application relies heavily on file transfer, file transfer of billing statements from billers/corporations. This file transfer is two way. Could flex be applicable in this type of setup? is it highly recommended? I mean developing a flex GUI in the client side (meaning the billers and corps) to be able to send and receive files in our application. I never worked on Flex yet but based on what I've read, its just like a web service with a GUI? is my understanding correct?

A book or tutorial?

It's probably best to start new questions in new threads.
