Hi ppl, i am starting to develop a website, but since i am new to java, i need to take some helpful advise from you all. I want to create a website that will contain discussion board and chat feature. Can you tell me which web framework will be more suitable for these type of components?

Welcome to JavaRanch.

What should this framework do? There are big differences in capabilities and style between them.

Please use real words when posting to the forums. Abbreviations such as "ppl" in place of "people" only serve to make your posts more difficult to read and less likely to generate useful responses.

Please read this for more information.

thanks,

All of them. Web frameworks don't get defined by what kinds of applications they enable - they are application-agnostic. What I meant by "What should this framework do?" is the mechanics of web applications - MVC, I18N, providing support for REST and/or JSON, validation, form binding, etc. That's where the frameworks differ from one another.
