When I use slsb with remote interface i communicate with it over rmi/ioop,

is it similar when I use @Local? I think not, but want to be sure,
i suppose i get reference to service and no rmi/ioop is used.

No RMI/IIOP protocols are only works with @Remote, the configuration lies within the container. Also this tend to reduce the network overhead.
