How anxious are you about trying to stay "caught up" with new technologies?

Hello, everyone! In a few days, Java Ranch will be featuring my book, Taming the Technology Tidal Wave, for their weekly book promotion. "Tidal Wave" is a light-hearted yet practical career guide for everyone who is struggling with trying to stay caught up with the latest technologies. Despite the fact that it was published back in 2004, it is every bit as timely now -- or perhaps I should say, the career advice that I offer in my book is TIMELESS! I've used these same strategies -- "survival tips" -- over and over throughout my 31 year IT career (wow! that's a long time to be a techie!!! ), and have shared them with many other colleagues and friends as well. They really work!

I hope you'll join in the discussion starting Monday about Taming the Technology Tidal Wave ... I look forward to "talking" with you then!

Cheers,

Jacquie Barker

Jacquie,

Welcome back !!! Next week should be fun.

BTW, JR signatures no longer supports html. You can have url tags in your signature (using UBB code) like so...

[url=http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/ASIN/1590594576/beginningjavaobj]Beginning Java Objects[/url]

The official welcome thread is up. A small administrative note - posts welcoming Jacquie are not entered in the promo regardless of whether they are in this thread or the official welcome thread.
