Hi,

I have written a simple Hello World web service using metro, eclipse as IDE and have deployed it to tomcat.

The HelloWorld service is running fine, without any issue.

But now i want to add username authentication into this HelloWorld Service.

Can anybody guide me for the same.

I have gone through couple of tutorials online, but most of the tutorial talks about net beans ide. click here and there... i am not using net beans ide.. so i am not able to understand it.

Thanks !!!

Can anybody guide me for the same...

Looking forward to hear from you.. soon

I am using Metro 2.0, JDK 6, Tomcat 6 and Eclipse 3.4

Hi!
Have you seen my SCDJWS study guide that contains instructions on how to set up different types of authentication:
http://faq.javaranch.com/content/Exam-Objectives-5.pdf
Section 8.3 may be of interest to you.

Regretfully I used GlassFish when writing the document, not Tomcat. I hope there are something that can help you anyway.
I have used Eclipse when developing all the examples.
Best wishes!

Chapter 14 of the https://metro.dev.java.net/guide/ talks specifically about doing this without using NetBeans.
