You're right, JNDI is usually covered in JEE books, but most of the books I found that covered it were rather old (circa 2000); I was looking for recommendations for newer ones. In the end, I picked up from my library "Java Data Access"; it has a simple and straight-forward explanation of JNDI and how to use it. Unfortunately, it didn't cover as much as I'd like about
referenceable objects.
