What kind of information are you looking for ? Did you try Google ?
For the exam, the only thing you have to know is that this tag is used in distributed environments. No more.

to my knowledge apperence of tag means the application is distributable.

If application is distributed accross many JVMs each has it own servlet context object so it is no longer a good place to store application wide data and for that database should be used.

I found this Servlet Spec 2.4....
It appers that distributable tag is a empty tag
