Hi all,

I just passed my SCJP today and planning to start my SCJD project.

I am wondering if I can start downloading the SCJD project now even before I received my SCJP certificate?

Moreover, when shall I take the SCJD exam? After project is passed? Is there a time limit about when must I take the SCJD exam after I submit my project?

Many thanks,

Regards.

The ScjdFaq should answer a lot of your questions.

Howdy, Noahsark!

Well, I think so. I think it is possible.

Moreover, when shall I take the SCJD exam?

You'll have to go for it after the upload. If I make no mistake, some people uploaded the project after taking the exam, and as far as I can remember, there were no problems. But in this case, I don't know how Sun deals with that. But people usually take the exam after uploading the project.

Hell Noahsark!

Yes you can ofcourse.

Thats what i did too.

I had to call Sun's local office and quote them my ID number and mentioned that I passed SCJP.

It took them about 24 hours to locate the candidate exam record. After verification of SCJP status, yes they gave me access to the SCJD assignment.

No need to wait for the certificate.

Hope this helps.

About taking the exam: as far i know it should be after uploading the assignment. But, as per Roberto's reply I think there are exceptions as well.
