Links for Downloading JSTL 1.2.jar and all the TLDs

Hi,

can anybody give me the links to download the jstl1.2.jar and the related TLDs like c.tld,sql,tld,fmt.tld ...etc ?

Also please tell me what is rt in the c-rt.tld,fmt-rt.tld....etc files.

Also my tlds declared in the JSps work correctly only if i write the uri as http://java.sun.com/jstl/core_rt..

Please help. I am new to JSTL.

Hi Deepak, I am also new to JSTL. I cannot explain you in detail about what are those, but I can show you the path to learn it and download all required jar files and tld files. In fact we also can create our own tld files and tag libraries. Once check this out.

All you need is the jstl 1.2 jar file. You do not need separate tld files.

"-rt" is only relevant for JSTL 1.0.

What more is there to explain? Get the jar file, drop it into WEB-INF/lib, and you're ready.

But can you people throw some light on the uri declaration problem that i just mentioned in my post?.

The uri that works for me is " http://java.sun.com/jstl/core_rt ? " But everywhere it is mentioned the uri declaration to be " http://java.sun.com/jstl/core ". Is the uri " http://java.sun.com/jstl/core_rt " also correct ?

He is talking about jsp core tags (" with prefix c") . to use them you just need to put jstl jar file in WEB-INF/lib directory. for everything else like your own customized tags created by extending TagSupport or SimpleTagSupport you will have to create your own tlds.

also in tomcat two files are available in examples : jstl.jar & standard.jar. i am not sure about the version. check that.

Correct -- no tld files! They're inside the jar and the container will find them there.

And no -rt URI! That's for the JSTL 1.0!

Look up the correct URI for the JSTL 1.2.
