Hi,

First of all iam unable to find where to post this topic. So that i choose similar forum.

What are the Query Optimistaion techniques related to any Database, in order to improve performence of an application,
And is any way to find the timestamp of a query to execute(means how much time to takes to execute)

Thanks & Regards,

Kind of an open question.

More of a book, than a forum response.

In general the best way to improve performance is to use a profiler (such as JProfiler) and find where your bottlenecks are, and then find some way to avoid/improve them.

Some of the techniques depend on your ORM being used, and your database.

There is some info here,

http://wiki.eclipse.org/EclipseLink/Performance

If you just want the time to execute a query it is fairly simple,

long time = System.currentTimeMillis();
query.getResultList();
System.out.println("the time is:" + System.currentTimeMillis()- time);
