Hi

When i went to the interview during my career start , the interviewer asked me what is the purpose of using Log4j ??

As an answer i said him , for debugging during development . But somehow he wasn't happy .

Please let me know what was the answer he was expecting ??

If it was only for debugging during development, I would prefer to use debugger

It is simply a logging tool which can log at multiple levels (Debug, Info, Warning etc), so it's more than just for debugging, it can be used for real time monitoring and support as well.

We have no way of knowing what answer he was expecting. Yours, however, would raise a red flag if I had been interviewing you.
