Char default value - Enthuware question

Hi

This is a question from enthuware:

public class A {
 
    static boolean b;
	static int[] ia = new int[1];
	static char ch;
	static boolean[] ba = new boolean[1];
	public static void main(String args[]) throws Exception
	{
		boolean x = false;
		if( b )
		{
			x = ( ch == ia[ch]);
		}
		else x = ( ba[ch] = b );
		System.out.println(x+" "+ba[ch]);
	}
}

Char default value is '' ....how does ba[ch] works?

The output is false false...

I do not understand how the ba['default char value'] works...

If you type cast ch to int you will get 0.

Of course, array works on integer argument.
