Hello,

Before ignoring this topic with comments such as "find in search tabs" or "already solved" or something please take a minute or two to my situation
I am trying to build a simple entity bean with oracle 10g database using EJB3.0 and using Jboss 5.1.0.GA .

Here is my persistence.xml

The only decent reference to this problem i have had is in this post --> Reference

I have tried using all the "providers" etc but i still face the same problem, here is the exception/error log

I have been struggling with this problem since weeks and dont know how to proceed.

Are you using the correct oracle drivers?? I read here that wrong drivers might return 0 as oracle version (as your error also says)...

Hello Ankit,

thanks for replying.

I am using ojdbc14.jar driver library. I use netbeans for making my projects (EJB). I have the driver file added to my libraries, environment variables and also in my jboss libraries as well as deply folders.

also regarding the post

Another fix might be to figure a way to map 0 to your Oracle dialect but the mappings appear to be hardcoded at the moment in org.hibernate.dialect.DialectFactory. You could hack it I suppose.

This kind of stuff seems too advanced for me, as I am learning EJB as course in my university, and unfortunately I am the only one who has faced this problem in my entire class.
