Facelets and escape in h:outputText

I use Facelets and I cannot use something like this:

<h:outputText escape="true" value"Hello <em>User</em>"/>

<h:outputText escape="false" value"Hello <em>User</em>"/>

this is not the same:

<h:outputText escape="false">
Hello <em>User </em>
</h:outputText>

<h:outputText escape="true">
Hello <em>User </em>
</h:outputText>

How can I use escape h:outputText with facelets?

Facelets neither knows nor cares about the outputText tag or HTML escaping. But that should have been "value=", and not simply value"xxxxx".
