Hi Jothi,

You are a Java developer why not code your own app??

Handling GPS and location based data is very simple in Android.

Have you checked the Android Store?

Of course, you realize that in the Android developers forum, you should be asking about how to write your own GPS app!

To be honest, I am confused by your question. What do you exactly mean by "suits my Android Galaxy"? Do you mean applications tailored for Galaxy or applications that look good on Galaxy? Are you looking for a location based App that does something specific?

There are lots of different applications that use GPS in Android Market both free and paid, why don't you try them out?

Check this http://www.mapmyindia.com/

I got to know from them that the App#s they have would not run on my Samsung Galaxy, though it is Android!

I'm right now not idle and working for more than 12 hours a day. Writing my own GPS app is not so novel as you already told that I'm a Java developer. It is just the time that I don't find these days.

Does the Galaxy not run Google Maps? On my HTC, Google Maps came with the phone.

Then again, on that unit, Google everything came with the phone.

Yes, I'm looking for a Navigation System with voice. Google maps is just fine to locate your destination.

That's a bit different. You can get that even without true GPS, if it's what I think it is. Sprint provided one of those with the phone. Google can't do everything, and besides, Sprint owns (or at least leases) the cell towers that are the primary location references.

I'm looking for a solution to my phone.
