I have declared a variable in a jsp such a String abc=null; and this variable is assigned a value from a cookie if that cookie is present. The problem is the cookie from which the value will be assigned is not present but some value is getting assigned to the variable abc which is suppose to be the cookie value.
The cookie is not present now, but can it be like earlier the cookie was present and the value is cached somewhere?

What does the code, where this variable is being assigned, look like?
