Hello All Ranch Members,
I am a java programmer having a basic knowledge of oops.
I think the question i am asking here is very simple but i have to clear my doubt in mind.

What is the difference between access specifiers & access modifiers?
Are they same or both have different meanings?
if they are different, what are they?
definitions for them.

I have done some googling before posting this question, but responses to my doubt are mixed.
I think this is a place where i can clear my doubt?
This is very important question from interview point of view.
So, please help me to clear this doubt.

Thanks in advance.

Have a look in the Java™ Language Specification and see whether you can find "specifier" at all. I think the difference is that "modifier" is the officially-approved term and "specifier" is an unofficial name.
