RegEx space (How critical this spaces in exam?)

The output for that code is 6 and 11. BUT if you put space between the closing parenthesis and the plus (+) sign in line 1 the output is just 11.

My question is, how critical this spaces in the exam? This can be really tricky.

If you add spaces then the search pattern would be changed like 0 which should be followed by x/X followed 0-9/A-F /a-f then should be followed by spaces.

I don't thinks exam team would try to test you by hiding the spaces between brackets but you should be very careful looking into the code like walking over the mine field...its your life...
