Spring Modules are built on the top of Core Container

I am new to Spring Framework . please excuse if this is a dumb question .

I have read this line form a site :

Spring Modules are built on the top of the Core Container .


I know that Core Container is also a Module.
Can anyone please tell me what is the meaning of this line ??
