Hi Mr. Neal,
I know there is a technology namely: Tiles, which can be used to create template for display.
How can this migrate with Structs and JSPs or Servlets?
Are there any examples taking about this?
Does this methodology a common way to develop Web applications?
Thanks.
Nick.

Hi Nicholas,
Tiles can be used with or without Struts, though it actually ships with struts package. I am not sure about the populairty but in my opinion they are very powerful and I like using them.
There are a number of good articles that I have seen on this topic, here is a link: bottom of this page there are links to tiles articles

I don't have any examples in my book of using Tiles, but there is a lot of documentation out in the world on using it. The Struts web site has some examples, and Struts 1.1 ships with some example web applications.

It is quite common, and should be more so. We use Tile heavily to organize web UI, and it makes the job much easier and cleaner.

Hi Neal,
Thus, Tiles can make use of JSTL as well? Since Tiles is the template of the display...
Thanks
Nick.

Absolutely. Tiles in no way restricts the kinds of tags and/or syntax you can use on the page. In fact, we liberally mix JSTL and Struts tags within our tiles.
