Apart from the fact that your displayed name does not match our naming policy: you will see on this forum that we do not allow discussion of named companies.

Please do not give company names on this forum. I have deleted the names (I hope Henry and Mark don't mind).

"Mr Ritchie", please.

You will have to find a website with less professional criteria than ours, I am afraid. And change your displayed name.

First, this topic comes up often... if you search, you will see comparisons based on years experience, salary, benefits, location, etc. It is just that naming the company that is not allowed. Aren't there other ways to ask this question? Ways without targeting a company?

Second, if you do read the other topics, "suggest me what to do" is rarely the best answer. Its your career. Its your life. Nobody knows enough about you to suggest on what to do, better than yourself.

I tend to disagree. Perhaps, we are more logical when thinking about others than ourselves. Just my opinion.

Ummm yeah. It's always easier to tell others what they should do than figuring it out for ourselves.

When I am thinking about a career change, the factors that come into mind are....

How will it affect me? Not just what I will be doing, but what I will not be doing. Not just the opportunity, but what I will lose.

How it will affect my friends and family? An offshoot of the first question. A stressed out henry is not a good henry. A henry that can't spend time with family is not a good henry either.

In my opinion, changing jobs is stressful because it is more emotional than logical. And I think that this is a good thing, as what it affects is more emotional than logical.... Nobody retires after a long career, and regrets that he/she didn't take a certain position, because of the salary difference or a chance to learn a certain technology.
