I am a senior programmer working in java for the past 6 yrs. I have only

worked in USA. I intend to go back to India in the near future( next 1-2 yr). I have

cleared scjp, scbcd, scwcd. I cleared old scea part 1 and fell short of part 2

by a few points. I have a Btech and MS in computer science. I am working in a product developement company which

develops erp software.I work in spring and hibernate.I have previously worked

in Flex. I would like to apply for the positions of architect/team lead/ technical manager when

i go back.

How are the general interviews in java for a senior positions.
Is US experience considered valid?
As far as my experience goes the interviews in US are mostly conceptual. Is it

similar in India ? Do they expect you to know the syntax of everything you have

worked on?

I have had an interview with a top 5 service firm once for a contracting

position. Even though i was applying for a senior position and had written in

my resume that i cleared scjp that guy was asking me basic syntax questions .

Is this common?. I intend to write scea 5 again and clear it. I would

appreciate if people working in india can give their inputs.I appreciate your suggestions

The interview pattern in India is completely different in India. It is rather more technical and in depth that you would face in the USA. I would not be surprised to answer some very basic systax related questions no matter how senior you are and especially when you are applying for a technical position.
