switching from java to jsp

i did a mail retrieval program in java.now that we are moving on to jsp,i embedded my java program in side <% %> and imported necessary packages.but i m getting errors

Why on earth would you do that?

That's completely backward. You should be careful to never put java code in a JSP! If your code is already in a Java class, you are way ahead of the game. Why regress?
