Recovering shift-deleted files in Windows XP.

Hello,

Anyone could help me to get my shift-deleted files using any freeware. The softwares which i found from internet is able to recover those files, but doesn't allow me to save those recovered files. It prompts me to buy the license.

Seeking for help to get my costly files!!!

System restore might be able to to get your file back if a restore point was created while the file was on the drive. Restore points are created every month and every time you install or uninstall soft-where. To check what restore points you have go into your system tools and run system restore, then select restore my system to an earlier time and a calender will be shown to you with restore points in bold. Select the nearest bold date and your system will be restored to what it was like on that date. Keep in mind that system restore will change all your settings back to what they where at that date. Any work you did after the restore point on the deleted file is lost. The files you created and edited after the restore point will be preserved. If you still can't find your file you can restore your computer back to the point where you flashed it back, system restore creates a restore point when you restore your computer to an earlier time.

If you do manage to get the file back id recommend that you back it up somewhere.

Why don't you try Restoration (http://www3.telus.net/mikebike/RESTORATION.html). It has some limitations, but it works pretty well most of the times.

Majority of the data recovery software do not let you save the data that has been recovered. However, if the data that has been lost is of importance to you, it is recommended to go for a paid Undelete Tool, as freewares are usually found to be less effective, and sometimes end up causing more harm than good.

There are some limitations in any free data recovery software so that if your data is worthy then don't think the cost for recovering it. I will suggest you to use kernel for fat and ntfs windows data recovery software for the recovery of those files and data.

I have used one data recovery software. May be you can download it and have a try. It can do format recovery, unformat and recover deleted files. It is easy to use. However, if you have overwritten you data, it may not help you. it also has free version, but it just can recover at most 1GB data.

If you deleted your files by shift+delete operation then you cannot even restore that files or applied any inbuilt Windows XP utilities on it. In this case, data recovery software can help you. Now which software you should choose it depends on two factors first one “How much the data is worth to you” & ”How much data you want to recover”.
