It is now my favorite movie of all times.
Check it out.
It is so earthy and sends the right message across without being preachy.
A little melodrama is there towards the climax(the delivery, et al) however, you get the point.

Yeah, this thread title is like one of those optical "illusions" where they ask you if you see a young woman or an old woman. Or a vase, or two people kissing. Whatever.

Even after reading this thread several times, and understanding (I think) the various interpretations of the title... even now, when I see the title "Saw 3 idiots?", my first response is :

I've seen far more than three idiots in my life so far. Which three did you have in mind?

@Netra - You are right...

@Ulf - This is all about an Indian movie "3 Idiots" and not about the movie "Saw 3"

Yes, we know that. It's obvious when you read the post and follow the link. Ulf and I were discussing our reactions to the title only, because it's amusingly misleading.

Amazing title indeed. Reminded me of the question: Is Zebra white with black stripes or black with white stripes?

The pun was intended.
Ok, now we can move on from the title to the actual movie.
Don't you think it's S.u.pe.r.b ?!!
Besides providing excellent comedy, the message it sends across is so just.
@Praveen : yeah, the speech is my favorite too.Do you know Omi Vaidya, who played Chatur (aka the 4th idiot) is actually a regular actor in TV soaps in US?
He appeared as a turbaned Tech Support in "The Office".

I watched 3 idiots last night 9-12 show, and I didn't find it that amazing as many of my friends were saying. The movie was good, hilarious on many occasions, but I found the ending typical Bollywood movie style (spoiler alert: spoiler starts) where the new born child gets life back when they say "All is Well". And then they showed aamir khan as "Phunsuk Wangdu" just for the sake of showing that he won. I mean come on, such a rich person is in Ladak and no one knows. (spoiler alert: spoiler ends). The people in the theater were going crazy on some jokes which I didn't find funny at all. But still overall it was a good entertainer (but nothing exceptional from many other movies that I've seen)...

Remember that it is an Indian commercial movie.
The end is melodramatic because they have to sell the movie.
However, it still gives a serious massage in a very funny way.
I would consider it a jewel because the makers have managed to bring a crucial issue to the fore front in the movie without cutting on its entertainment value for the masses.
Besides, the script is smooth and has pace. Not once did I feel that may be now I can go fetch some popcorns.
As for the jokes, well the last joke was made in 1750. Its the way you deliver it that matters.
I was amused and I loved Chatur.

I'm sure one can't compare "Paa" or "Taare Zameen Par" with "3 Idiots". Completely different types of movies.
