Last night i got the DVD of the movie "Drag me to HELL" from my friend and he told me that it is one of the best scary movies so suggested me to watch during day time..as i stay alone in my penthouse..

I started watching this movie around 10:30 PM and i was the only person watching this movie.doors shut..with audible volume..

Movie was really freaky..I would say one of the creepiest movies i have ever watched..I almost cried for what is going on with the girl in the movie...

I am actually a rock hearted..i have seen all the SAW movie series 1-6,The texas chainsaw masscre,Firday the 13th,..I am basically a horror movie fan..

But this movie stands out among all...

I was so freaked out that i had to stop my urine till morning...

Dont watch this movie if you are lighthearted..

Oh no no no no no no no, that's a bad idea to watch that movie when you live alone at 10:30PM, you should've listened to your friend who asked you to watch it in daytime...

Freaky? I thought it was hilarious. Justin Long playing the Prius-driving college teacher we always suspected he was from his Mac commercials. The abuse of the corpse. The final twist. Typical Sam Raimi (Army of Darkness, Evil Dead, etc.).
Now The Ring, that was freaky. I wouldn't watch that one alone at night. . .

Those movies are more "torture porn" to get you to squirm rather than to scare you.

I would put The Grudge in the same category.

I love scary movies, but the best scary movie out there, to me, is Jaws. I mean, its not really scary, but it is a very good movie altogether, and the suspense of never really seeing the shark until the end of the movie is amazing.

"Alien" is the same way. 30 years later, it still scare the bejesus out of me each time I see it.

My old boss at my last job won't watch that movie anymore. He told us how scary it was because the only thing you saw on the poster was the egg partially opened, and when the alien first appeared everybody freaked. Definately one of my favorite movies.

I've always preferred Aliens to Alien, actually.

"Aliens" is a sequel that lives up to the original, definately. The third and fourth, however, weren't that good.

No doubt, but those in turn are still better than the whole "Alien vs. Predator" franchise.
Which is crap.

They are completely different kinds of movies. It would be like comparing "Psycho" to "The Matrix".

The first was a suspense film - the second an action

The Ring, indeed. I am still mustering the courage to watch it.
People who have seen the movie bet with their life savings that it can scare the hell out of me.

The Ring is not that scary, I watched it at 1ap at night alone in my room with lights turned off, there are some scary parts in the beginning and end but other than that its all story (suspense) and not horror in the movie. Grudge on the other hand is scary throughout...

For me, movies are always scarier before we see the [monster/killer/alien/whatever]. Taking a so so movie for example, in "I Am Legend" the scariest part of me was towards the beginning when Will Smith's character is chasing the deer with his dog and the deer and dog disappear into a dark building. Will has to go in and try and find his dog and all you can see is what his flashlight sees. The brief glimpses of the zombie like humanoids, the dead deer, the dog even being too scared to come out of hiding.

But then there is the scene where all the "things" are attacking him in his car. That wasn't scary. Partly because the mystery of what they are was over and partly because the CGI was pretty poor.
