Hi,
I bought 4 sun certification vouchers through SAI(Sun Academic Initiative), I used one of the vouchers for my SCJP exams and passed with 93%.... now I am preparing for SCWCD...after SCWCD i will have 2 vouchers left, i had thought that I would use the remaining 2 for SCBCD and SCMAD but found out that vouchers purchased through SAI can only be used for the following certifications :
1) Java Certifications :
a) SCJA
b) SCJP
c) SCWCD (Pre Requisite : SCJP)
2) Solaris Certifications :
a) SCSAS (Solaris Associate)
b) SCSA (System Administrator)
c) SCNA (Network Administrator) (Pre-requisite : SCSA)

3) MySQL Cerifications :
a) MySQL Associate
b) MySQL DBA (2 papers, would require 2 vouchers)
c) MySQL Dev (2 papers, would require 2 vouchers)

now i am confused which certifications should I attempt with the remaining two vouchers , please people help me on this, please advice me for which certifications should i use the two vouchers for..

What certifications you go for is your choice. What are your interests?? Go for the certification that you feel would be good for your career...

I am interested more in programming and development rather than administration...I had decided to go for the MySQL developer certification but a friend told me that MySQL is pretty much history as SUN is now owned by Oracle so MySQL would'nt have much support or updates in the future, and suggested that I should go for a SCSA(Solaris Administrator) certification and then go for MySQL Associate, this way I would diversify my experience and after wards I can go for Oracle Certifications....
The conclusion I reahed to uptill now is : ....I am totally confused...and dont know what would be better fo me...

I think you can go for
SCJA (exam which will require programming and development skills)
and
SCMA (My SQL Associate)
but final decision is yours and it may depend on your intrest

Abhay I am already a SCJP, and as far as my information goes, I think that any one who has done SCJP doesnt need to do SCJA(Sun Certified Java Associate) because SCJP is a level higher than SCJA...neways I'l still look into it...thnx for the suggestion

Hi
I also thought the same when i appeared for SCJP. But when i checked the course of SCJA, i found that SCJA has altogether different course than SCJP. SCJP has all Java programming course. SCJA has OOPs concepts, algorithms, core java, client technologies and server technologies in its course. Even i am planning to give SCJA (as this certification proves that candidate has basic knowledge of client
Thanks
