You do have the correct website for Prometric. I just visited and I do see it on there, both on the academic track and the professional track. here's the instructions how I got to it:

- go to the website you mentioned. The link is correct.
- click Information Technology, scroll down, then click Sun Microsystems.
- on the right-hand side of the screen, click the blue "start" button
- click Schedule An Appointment
- enter your country and state/province and click Next.
- Sun Microsystems should be highlighted already; if not, click Sun Microsystems.
- select either the Academic Initiative or the Sun Microsystems track (in this case, I'm NOT selecting Academic)
- A list of notes will come up; click Next after reading.
- select exam 310-065 (Sun Certified Programmer for the Java 2 Platform, SE 6.0)
- Select your language and payment method, and click "Next."

After this I would suppose you will be "home free." You would need to choose a testing location and enter payment or voucher information. If you do not have a Prometric account, you will need to set one up. But this should get you through the issue you have been having.

One more thought: in what country are you located? Are there known trade embargos where a particular exam might not be available in your area? This would be a situation where you would want to call Prometric and discuss it with them.

Hi Ben, thank you very much for such a detailed instruction. if sun won't give me the export clearance today, i will definately buy the voucher from the prometric site. it's just too much trouble to work through with them. I came from China. But I'm a US citizen and live in the US now. My name is Chinese. But I don't think China is in any embargo list of America, right?

You shouldn't have a problem with export laws, then. I believe there are not current embargoes affecting U.S./China relations, but since you are a U.S. citizen, it would not affect you even if there were. It only affects purchases that take place in China.

I would bet it's a technical glitch. I'm sorry for all the trouble you have to go through just to get the voucher... Best of luck to you.

Am I blind?
After I clicking Information Technology, there is no entry "Sun Microsystems" nor "Oracle" ???
Anyone know what to do know ?

Regards,
Yusuf

OK, looks better. Is pearsonvue.com new?
Is prometric dead for SCJP takers?
