Hello,

I'll be working on redesign of company's website using portlet technology. So please suggest some refernce books which are simple and practical.

Only the book which I found from this forun is JSR-168-Portlet-Development-Simplified-Second.If there are others please let me know.

Thanks,
Swapnil

Hi Swapnil,

I think there are couple of books available on Portlet 1.0 specification. If you are starting with fresh portal development project then I will recommend that you go for Portlet 2.0 compliant portal servers. I don't think there is any published book which covers Portlet 2.0 specification in detail.

Hi,

If you are using WebSphere Portal server and want to use JSR 168 (which is Portlet 1.0) then I will recommend that book. In case you are doing fresh development (which is reflected from your first post) I recommend that you use JSR 286 (which is Portlet 2.0 specification) for developing your portal. As of now books are not available on Portlet 2.0 but some online tutorials are available on Portlet 2.0 which can help you get started with portlet development. You can also have a look at the sample chapter of the book I am currently working on to see if it helps you get started with portlets. You can download the sample chapter from here.
