Guys,

I'm looking forward to buying a gaming console. I would like to know which one that I should opt for? Nintendo or the XBOX? What are the differences between the two? Does anyone have this already?

I am going to assume you mean Xbox 360 and Nintendo Wii.

I have both, and I will write some facts below:

Xbox 360
--Better graphics (output is HD)
--Larger game selection
--Variety of games for mature gamers (Realistic war games, etc.)
--Best online multiplayer option in console gaming (in my opinion)
--Controls are closer to the standard controls

Wii
--Innovative new control with the Wiimote and Nunchuck
--Lots of family-oriented games that are fun for older gamers too (Mario Party 8, Wii Sports, etc.)
--Cheaper
--Games are less expensive
--Gets people moving (since gamers are notorious for not exercising much)
--Ability to download old-school Ninendo games (BIG seller for me)

I personally enjoy both, but if I was forced to choose, I would take my 360 over the Wii. While I really enjoy my Wii, a lot of hte fun of it comes from playing with a group of people. I don't have any friends near here that play, and with teh 360 I can play over the internet much easier. The Wii does have online gaming, but from what I've seen it doesn't match up to Xbox Live.

I have PS2 its good do have a lot of game titles available .Is very popular so wont be tough to find one.
and is not too costly
but if uyou want a real gaming experience go for XBOX or PS3

I would also add that the Wii is much more accessible to the non-hard-core gamer. My wife won't touch the playstation, but eagerly jumps into all the Wii games.

I'm considering the XBOX 360. Any guess on the price here in Germany? I would check that with a local store here to see if they run any discounts. I would also like to buy the Forza F3 racing sport. Anyone already having that? Can you share your experience?

Forza 3 is, IMHO, probably the best true racing sim available. Over 400 cars and 100 tracks. The handling is better than in FM2. The graphics are terrific. Great game. But expect to have to learn how to drive the cars. This isn't Mario Kart. Also, having the steering wheel really helps.

I think that it is the games that are, in general, more accessible, and not the unit. For example, I can't imagine my wife with a Wiimote and Nunchuck playing Metroid Prime Corruption.

As for the "less expensive" argument. I am not sure if I completely agree. With the Wiimote and Nunchuck, and now, the Wii Motion Plus, there are lots of components of controller per player. And since party games tend to have four players simultaneously, it can get pretty costly.

True, they may be getting closer now. When I first purchased each, though, my Xbox was overall more expensive than my Wii. I'm willing to bet getting an Xbox 360, and buying enough congrollers to give you 4 players (can't remember if you would need 2 or 3...I think it depends which version you buy) the Xbox would still come out over the Wii, although probably not nearly as much as it used to. For the Xbox, a major expense can be the HDD, which are still fairly expensive.

Or, you could just eBay an old-school NES. I've got a Wii, Xbox 360, and NES hooked up to my living room TV right now .

Doesn't the XBOX 360 come with a 250 GB HDD?? I have yet another question of how could I install the Forza 3 game on my XBOX 360? Does the XBOX 360 have a DVD / CD player?? Can someone please explain me?

I have a beamer and this beamer has a S Video connection point. Can I connect the XBOX 360 to this beamer and project it on the wall?? Anyways, I would be visiting the shops today to find out more on this.

There is so much localization here in Germany. I recently bought Windows 7 Home Premium and I tried looking for the english version of the software and none of the shops here have it with them. All I had to do is to order it from one of them and wait for a week to get it. In a similiar way I would like to know if the XBOX 360 is also in the same lines? Does it come in different languages of the base operating system?

Did some more research. So I need to decide between the following two:

XBOX 360 Super Elite + Forza 3
PlayStation 3 + GT 5

What do you guys suggest?

Is there any failure rate which decides the quality of these devices?

Xbox 360s have a fatal flaw that causes them to malfunction after about 3 to 4 years of use, WII's and PS3's are more solid. I do component level electronics at school and we always have an excess of Xbox 360s that people send in all with the same problem.

I agree. I pretty much only bought the Sports games for my Wii. (I have rented Party games.) And this is the first video game console I've owned. When I went to GameSpot, I saw kids games, sports games, party games and "guys" games.

Luckily I bought the PlayStation 3 slim 250 GB with GT 5 and another game as a bundle. Even I heard from the shop keeper that XBOX 360 is error prone. I did play the game yesterday and it was quite some fun.

I've been playing that since yesterday and managed to buy an Audi R8 by winning a couple of races. But for some of the races, the cars that are supposed to be used aren't fast enough.
