Hello,
The application which I am developing has a parent jsp with buttons on every row. These buttons,on being clicked, open up a child window. This
child window is supposed to have rows retrieved from the database. One of these rows is to be selected and the relevant value is to be sent
back to the parent window. Now how do I get the child window(jsp) to retrieve rows from the database?I am using the Spring MVC framework for
development of this application.

Please advise.

Thanks
Richard

Your JSP doesn't know that its output is going to be directed to a "child" window. So your question becomes
Now how do I get the jsp to retrieve rows from the database?

If that's still a question in your mind, you're going to have to provide more information.

Thank you for your reply.I am not sure as how I could populate the child window with data from the database.
Especially since the code for the persistance is going to be outside the JSP,for example in a Controller class, how
do I pass the values to the Child Window.I know how this is to be done in the case of a parent window but not sure about
the child window.Hope this is clear.

Please advise.

Thanks
Richard

From the point of view of the server, there is no difference between child windows and parent windows. None. Nada. Zero. Zlich.

So if you know how to do it for a parent window, what's the holdup?
