Hi,

I am planning to write the SCWCD 1.5 exam. Could someone please tell me the difference between these 2 exams? I have the HeadFirst SCWCD 1.4 Servlets and JSP book. Would that suffice or do I need the newer book? Also both these exams are based on the Servlets 2.4 and JSP 2.0 specs. So what is the difference in the exams? I read somewhere that Sun just upgraded the exam name but the exam remains the same.

Regards,
Nalini

Welcome to JavaRanch. That's covered in the ScwcdFaq. It also has links to lots of other resources you will find helpful in your exam preparation.

Yes, both exams are almost same... If you have HF-SJ 1.4 book then you don't have to buy the newer version. As far as I can remember, newer book included only few amendments for <c:out> JSTL tag and dynamic attribute concept in custom tag development topic. If you can just follow the Spec and catch those 02 subtle topics, it is enough to have the old book.

Good luck!

It's exactly the same and completely different as this tiny ad:
