GXT Portal Application 
As part of our assessment for finding strong Java developers, we require you to participate in a short exercise to build a GWT/GXT application. This will allow us to see your development style, how quickly you can pick up GWT/GXT and also get an insight into your creativity. Please follow the guidelines below to complete the assessment. 
Software Requirements: 
• NetBeans IDE 6.8 with NB4GWT plugin to create GWT projects within the IDE. (http://www.netbeans.org/downloads/) 
• JDK 1.6 (JDK 6 Update 18 - http://java.sun.com/javase/downloads/index.jsp) 
• GWT 2.0 (http://code.google.com/webtoolkit/download.html) 
• GXT 2.1 SDK (http://extjs.com/products/gxt/download.php) 


 Task: 
Using the portal example in GXT as a starting point (http://extjs.com/explorer/#portal – screenshot left), please create 2 new portlets that can be displayed on the portal.
 
1. RSS Feed: the first portlet should take data from an RSS feed of your choice (e.g. BBC News) and display it on the screen in any format you wish. 
2. Task Manager: the second portlet will be a simple task manager which needs to fulfill the following requirements: 
o Display a list of tasks with task name, description and date. The list should be sortable by name and date. 
o Ability to add / remove tasks to / from the list 
Credit will be awarded for a working application, with well organised, readable code. We are also looking for creativity, so any additional functionality or ingenuity you show during the exercise will be well received. 

Actually i am new to GWT .Can anyone tell me a Good Refererence to Study to get knoledge to do this project.I search Google.But there are many sites ,one says use netbeans ,other says use Eclips ,other one says use manuall.I am confuse.
Can anyone help me?

Which IDE you use is entirely a personal choice (or sometimes the company's choice that you have to honor )
GWT has a plugin for Eclipse.

Anyway it is good tutorial.

I am afraid there are'nt much tutorials on the topic as the framework is fairly new
